The client is a distribution network operator for electricity nationally. It manages three licensed distribution networks which together cover an area of 30,000 square kilometres and approximately eight million customers.
The client historically journaled all email communication using Autonomy Consolidated Archive (ACA) for compliance purposes. The legacy ACA infrastructure was superseded by an on-premise Enterprise Vault 11.x implementation that was designed and implemented by
With no native mechanism to migrate the legacy content and a desire to maintain a single supported Journal platform for compliance, TrueSwift were engaged to migrate legacy content to Enterprise Vault.
TrueSwift designed and implemented a migration infrastructure to migrate 81 Million legacy messages, whilst maintaining the integrity of the Journal through provision of Chain of Custody reporting. As part of the design process TrueSwift optimised the Journal placement within the target infrastructure to ensure optimal throughput.
Future PII/compliance discovery searches were eased by providing the client with a single logical infrastructure for both historic and current Journaled email. Understanding the discovery needs of the client’s design decisions were made to ensure that whilst searched as a single entity, the natively archived and migrated journal messages could be readily identified on a per-message basis.
